I have sincerely enjoyed the show without the audience. I also love corrections. I had conversations about being worried about having an audience back and I suppose it's because I am feeling like I am losing my personal connection to Seth, and I know that's not true. I'm being selfish. Maybe next pandemic Seth can do a few episodes from my closet for nostalgia?

I really love the little pocket world this has created. A rare bright spot during the pandemic. My wife just adores it too. I'm double vaxxed, but she is immuno-compromised (not a vaccine hesitant person, but sick right now and the doc says she has to get better before she gets it), and can't go out yet. Since she is now terminally online in the interim, it has helped her too with her mood and outlook, and mine too, since it helps keeps my bride and soul mate of 27 years in high spirits! Thank you Seth and co., plus all the jackals!

Catching up on that week's clips, I'm sadly severely disappointed in the jackals apparently not pointing out in droves that the graphic of Trump being in last place among the ranking of best Presidents incorrectly puts him at #46. Grover Cleveland was POTUS before and after Benjamin Harrison. The conventional way of counting _presidencies_ puts his as #22 and #24, but he was still only one man. The misleading nature of this convention has long been a source of irritation for me, as I've heard and seen during Donnie's term even "prestigious" news programs and papers talk about his supposed "44" predecessors. That said, how this fun factlet on the list of Presidents doesn't stick with people from the moment they see it in school is utterly baffling me.

Of all the late night shows i've enjoyed the journey of Seth and the team the most, he has managed to retain the intimacy of the isolation shows, with the joy of a live audience. A hard line to tread but one done to perfection. It's a credit to all those involved to recognise the good and make it better. Thumbs up from across the pond.

Ooh. I’m so excited! I have another correction. I jump for jackal joy. I stand up on my hind jackal paws and dance around. I guess I’m an animated jackal, because I don’t think real jackals dance, at least not on their hind legs. I’m a metaphorical jackal, so I can dance however I choose. I’ll waltz, since that’s my favorite dance. I could jig for joy, but that’s much more fun with at least 3 dancer friends and more space, so I’ll settle for waltzing. Now that no one else is reading, since I’m past the first 3 lines that show in a comment, I want to apologize, Seth. I saw in “Graphics to Follow” that you started reading the AMget comments to get feedback and connection with those of us watching you online, because you missed the reactions of the in-person audience, which I totally understand. If I had known, I would have started commenting much earlier, because I appreciate so much what you do. I enjoy it artistically, and I also appreciated so very much that you kept doing the show during the shutdowns, because it helped. I normally never comment on anything on the internet, because usually the comments I happen to glance over are a waste of time, and I figure no one cares what I have to say about things. I actually sent you a book as a thank you gift, while you were still taping at your place or your in-laws’ place. Did you get it? I sent it to the manager listed for you on the internet, an address in Los Angeles. I also sent them a letter explaining why a book was showing up there addressed to you and asking them to forward the book to you. I thought it would be creepy to try to send it to you directly, by ferreting out an address where you actually were. I hope your manager forwarded it to you. I hope that really was your manager. I never saw that book on the pile, so maybe they didn’t forward it after all. I got you a copy of that John Adams book upon which a series was based. One time, you said, “I’m hoping a copy of that John Adams book will just show up around here.” I thought, “I could make that happen, and it would be funny if it did.” If you did get the book, could you possibly just put it on the desk during Corrections? Then I’ll know you got it. It could just be under a mug or something. I’ll see it. Thanks! Wow that got long! On to the correction. At 1:43, you said, “My dad, every Christmas, would tell my brother and I a story...” It should be “tell my brother and me.” “I” is the subjective form of the pronoun. “Me” is the objective form, and it is a perfectly fine word to use, in the right circumstances. “I gave a present to her,” “She gave a present to me.” If you’re not sure, try taking out the other person in the sentence. Your ear will probably guide you aright. You wouldn’t say, “My father would tell I a story.” Another good way to check is to see if you can put “to” in front of the pronoun, as this: “My dad would tell to my brother and to me a story.” (or “My dad would tell a story to my brother and to me.”) This mistake crept into use much earlier than the “on accident” one. I think I heard it first in the 1970’s, maybe, for sure by the 1980’s. I think people became afraid of the word “me,” because they were trying to correct another mistake. People used to say things like, “Mikey and me went to the store.” Someone would correct them and say, “Mikey and I went to the store,” but without explanation, so people became afraid to say “Mikey and me,” but that is the perfect thing to say when, for example, at Shoemaker’s party, the bubbly is going around (after the cake “surprise,” of course), you could say, “They served champagne to Mikey and me.” This has become quite a common error, unfortunately. I’m not surprised you picked it up. You misspoke in the same way sometime during the quarantine times, when you mentioned your mother would give red wine to “my brother and I.” I didn’t comment then to correct you, because, believe it or not, I don’t go around correcting people, even though I wish I could edit the whole world, not just language, but other annoying things, like bad design. One of my big peeves is toilet paper holders that are way too low. Who decided that was a good idea? Now I am commenting, because you have created an artform of collaboration. Corrections only exists if we offer corrections. Oh, and you could title it “Collaborations” sometime, if you want, because that’s what this is. We are collectively playing together. (I know that’s redundant.) Aside: This viewer of corrections doesn’t want to keep things moving. Take as much time as you want. Your timing is perfect. Thank you so much for reading my first correction and incorporating it. I didn’t write back after you said, “by purpose” in such an exaggerated way, because I knew you did that on purpose, and you were joking. I thought maybe you had read my correction, since I mentioned that as the corollary mistake of “on accident,” both of which I hear kids say sometimes. I thought someone else might have mentioned that, so I didn’t know for sure you had read my correction until this video, which you titled, “Confections,” which was similar to what I said in my previous correction. Now I know for sure. And my jackal heart is happy. Corrections is an absolute confection, and if I were in the Television Academy (which I’m not), I would absolutely vote for Corrections as best short form. Tooning Out the News is a fun concept, and I’ve seen it a few times. I’m sure Carpool Karaoke has some sort of charms, but I’ve never bothered to check, even though I’ve heard of it. (I would watch one episode before voting against it, just to be fair, if I had that option, which I don’t.) I watch Corrections with full attention. That’s why sometimes I don’t get to it right away. I want to focus on it and enjoy it and all the glorious nuances, all the long, shaggy jokes and call-backs, every marvelous stitch of it. Thank you.

Again, the inertia of the satellite does not mean that the pieces aren’t going anywhere; they are, and quite fast at the orbital velocity necessary for whatever orbit it’s in (varies with height, for example the ISS is moving at 7.66 km/s for its orbital altitude of ~420 km up). The *relative* speed of the exploded bits compared to the center of gravity of the satellite would be relatively small compared to the orbital velocity. In addition, because of orbital mechanics, the bits would fly around in some crazy directions which wouldn’t make much sense unless you sat down and derived the equations of motion yourself (that was usually what my professors told us to do if we didn’t understand a topic).

Seth -- On the show on the night of 10/12/21, you said "The new Superman character will come out as bisexual..." -- This is great and all, but just to clarify, it's not Superman they're making bisexual, it's his son, Jon Kent. The right wing is trying to say they've changed an existing longstanding character, and they haven't. His son was only created a few years back, unlike Superman himself, who has been around since 1938 or so.

"My dad, every Christmas, would tell my brother and I." Seth, you're great, but you keep making this same speech-mistake. Consider this grammatically-correct sentence: "My dad would tell my brother; and my dad would tell me." Or, simply, "My dad would tell my brother, and me." The word "me" is a direct object--it receives the action of the verb "tell"--and so must be in the objective case, not the subjective case. You can't say, "My dad would tell I." Anyway, we love your work, Seth!

1:41 "... would tell my brother and I..." is a grammatical error called overcorrection -- when people despreately avoid using "me" and end up overusing "I." The correct way to say this is "Would tell my brother and me..." The way to know when to use "me" or "I" in cases like this is to remove the other person. In this case, that would be "my dad would tell me." Surely, you wouldn't say, "my dad would tell I."

Hahahah! That "Nope!" when the notification went off was so great! Seth's a human too. 💖😂 Love that he addressed us and the way the show was during the pandemic. Great job Seth and the team, very much appreciated.
