Just a slight correction. Whilst Richard Attenborough did posses a CBE at the time of his passing his greater title and hence what both his brothers would need to address him by would either be The Right Honourable The Lord Attenborough CBE FRSA or perhaps just Baron Attenborough. Regards

There is actually no such thing as a seagull. Gulls can live elsewhere besides the sea and so they should just be referred to as “gulls” unless you know the species of gull. Where I live we mostly just have herring gulls. My roommate at university was a biology major and she drilled this into my head in third year (12 years ago) when I said “ahhhhh! that seagull stole my fries!” and she very helpfully said “there’s no such thing as a seagull! That’s a gull, and actually it’s a herring gull because of its black tipped wings.” That fact didn’t help me get my fries back, but it’s been stuck in my head ever since and I annoyingly correct people who say seagull.

5:28 Ok I gotta take the Jackals to task again here. The word "Seagull" is not a scientific term or the name of a species. It is a layperson's catch-all for seabirds of the _Laridae_ family which includes most extant species of gull. It can also be used to describe albatross, terns, and skua. So pointing out that the picture was of a "Silver Gull" doesn't make the damn bird any less of a seagull. Frickin' Jackals. Also Seth saying they're rare is hilarious cause the Silver Gull is the most common gull in Australia. That was probably Jackal bait. #JustieForTheGraphicsDept.

The main principle of Homeopathy is that substances that cause symptoms of illness can be used to cure those same symptoms in someone who is sick. They dilute the substance down until it is nonexistent, smacking it along the way to remind it what it is. I'm not joking, this is how Homeopathic remedies are made. This supposedly works because of the principle "Similia Similibus Curentur" or 'like cures like'. Or more accurately "The Stupid Will Out".

Belated jackal here. You described homeopathy wrong. It is not "just" diluting something to the point where none of the original substance is detectable, you also have to smash the solution on a leather cushion 10 times. That is how it was originally described. Without the smashing, it is just stupid old water. Take the smash-train to leather-cushion-town ten times, and boom, powerful pretend-medicine, the smashing is were the magic happens! I can't believe nobody pointed THAT out.

Loved that Attenborough story at the end. He is such a wonderful man. when my Great Aunty Betty turned 90 a few years ago, my sister and I wrote to David Attenborough asking if he might sign a picture for her. Betty LOVES him and has been a fan since his first appearances on TV in the 1950s. We told him this in our letter. Didn’t really expect a reply because he is so busy and famous - didn’t think he’d even read our letter personally. Boy were we wrong. He not only sent a photo, he wrote her a personal birthday card and sent a signed book too. So bloody kind.

Just one or two things to the homeopathy thing. I'm writing from Germany, where it is a fundamental thing. Usually you need to prove that a medicine works. Globuli don't. And the dilution is so high, that you can't find one molecule of the supposed substance which is supposed to help. D10 is like a drop into a lake. And to activate the "energy" of the substance (like belladonna), you need to knock it 5 times. No more, no less. Ridiculous.

Damn right, we do the best defenestrations! To be fair, though, supposedly the actual second defenestration (1483) was more of a coup than a real defenestration. Many people were killed, others executed. But only one person was actually thrown out of a window, the mayor - he was hit in the leg and pretended to be dead, so the attackers threw him out of the window. He survived, though! :D (this happened at Staroměstská radnice/town hall, the one with Orloj, the astronomical clock, but I assume the window they threw him out of was not too high, given he survived; they thought he was dead, no point in killing a corpse, right? Right?!) And it's also interesting that although the defenestrations were certainly crimes, they are often seen more like an act of heroism here, the common folk rallying against the oppressing ruling class who was constantly breaking rules to usurp more power and money. Aaaand during the third (often referred to as second, yes :D ) defenestration, no people died either. I seem to recall reading in one of the kid history books when I was a child that they lucked out and landed on a giant pile of manure, which saved their lives. Pretty sure the mob would them run them down anyway, though. :D All in all, thank you for mentioning Prague!
